What’s Mixture?

Mixture is a newsletter where science meets everything else. Twice a month you’ll get links to articles about the overlap of science and music, animals, culture, creativity and more. Expect book recommendations, sometimes videos, and always lots of interesting things.

Who writes this newsletter?

Hi! I’m Eva Amsen, a freelance science writer who has written for Forbes, Nature, The Observer, Undark, Hakai, The Scientist and other publications. I used to be a scientist, and I’m also an amateur violinist, and I’m always very online. This newsletter helps me share the cool things I found online with other people, and it’s also a way to show you some of the things I wrote myself. But only if I think you’ll like it. (I’ll save you the very technical writing I sometimes do.)

You can find more about me on my website, even though it’s perpetually a few months out of date, or follow me on Bluesky
