It's too hot to think, but here is some science
The heat really does hit differently in the UK, but I struggled through it to bring you a newsletter
It has been much too hot and humid here for the last few days, so this will be a short newsletter. I can’t write in the heat, and the temperature at my desk gets to 30°C! (That’s 86°F for American readers).
Depending on where you live, that might not sound overly hot to you, but the heat “hits different” in the UK and several papers this week have been reporting both on foreigners in the UK who are shocked how horribly hot a seemingly average temperature can feel and on the reasons why.
Luckily I didn’t have a deadline today, and I managed to get up early to finish a pitch. Just this newsletter and then I’m giving up for the day.
Zines in the shop
In the previous Mixture I showed the zines I made and took to a zine fest. The ones that I brought back home are now in the online shop on my website. I sold a couple already from just posting about it on Bluesky, so don’t miss out!
(Shipping cost tip: if you want 2 zines, you’re better off buying a set of all three, because the extra £1 will be less than the extra shipping the site calculates. But if you buy a book and any number of zines, the shipping cost is the same as if you only bought a book. Just play around with adding different things to the basket and see what works out best for you!)
